In this workshop, an introduction to numerical analysis in geotechnical engineering was discussed and some practical examples in numerical modeling were covered including shallow foundations, stone columns, seepage analysis, slope stability and slope rehabilitation modeling by nails and anchors. Furthermore, some discussions about dynamic analysis were considered. Participants were from universities in Missouri and practical engineers from consulting and contractor companies in St. Louis metro area. The participants received up to 12 Professional Development Hours. Special thanks go to SIUE Civil Engineering faculty including Dr. Abdolerza Osouli, Dr. Jianpeng Zhou and Mr. Brent Vaughn.
