"Chi Epsilon (χε) is the national civil engineering honor society in the United States. It honors engineering students who have exemplified the principles of scholarship, character, practicality, and sociability in the civil engineering profession. There are currently 137 chapters, of which 131 are active, where over 116,000 members have been inducted."* The SIUE Chapter of Chi Epsilon was inducted as the 121st chapter of the Honor Society of Chi Epsilon on April 26, 1997. Dr. Steven Hanna, advisor for the SIUE Civil Engineering Honor Society (the predecessor to Chi Epsilon), was initiated as the first Chapter Honor Member in 1999. As I am conducting research and teaching activities in SIU Edwardsville campus, it is my pleasure to enroll to Chi Epsilon organization and being involved in the organization activities. * Wikipedia website | Left: Dr. Nader Panahshahi, organization adviser Right: Siavash Zamiran |
