A new workshop titled Underground Coal Mine Stability Analysis will be presented in School of Engineering SIUE. The main subject of the workshop is the use of the numerical modeling and empirical correlations in room and pillar coal mining investigations including pillar stability, floor bearing capacity, roof and floor deformation and subsidence analysis. The workshop is very useful for students and professionals in the field of civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, mining engineering, and geology and geomechanical sciences. Participants will receive 6 PDH credits with a certificate of enrollment.

February 27, 2015: Numerical Modeling of Foundations Using FLAC3D
The main subject of the workshop is use of numerical modeling in analysis of shallow and deep foundations. Specifically, numerical modeling of group piles and stone columns will be discussed for deep foundations. FLAC3D, a geotechnical program which is developed by Itasca, Inc. will be used for numerical modeling. The workshop is very useful for students and professionals in the field of civil engineering, geotechnical engineering and other related fields.
