Slurry Backfilling & Waste Mine Management

Southern Illinois University
Illinois Clean Coal Institute
2014-2017

Project Description:
The slurry backfilling procedure on abandoned mine areas was evaluated in three different coal mines in Illinois. The effect of slurry backfilling on strength reduction of the immediate floor of the mines and mine pillars are studied based on different laboratory and numerical models.
